A STORY OF TRANSFORMATION
Cristian grew up in an environment marked by drugs and alcohol. After his mother relapsed and abuse made it impossible for him to stay at home, he was forced to leave at a young age. He spent time living on the streets, taking on informal jobs to survive. At just 16, he found work in a restaurant, but when the pandemic hit, that opportunity disappeared—and he was back on the streets. It was during this difficult season that a pastor told him about Casa Gabriel. Taking his first steps inside, Cristian began a journey toward a completely different life.
At Casa Gabriel, Cristian discovered that he could dream big. He set goals to finish high school and go to college—and he has achieved both. Today, he is in his second year of university, working toward a degree in English education. He has earned his motorcycle and driver’s licenses, competed in CrossFit competitions, and is learning guitar so he can serve in hischurch’s worship team. Beyond academics and skills, the spiritual mentoring he has received has deepened his relationship with God and even led him to explore theological studies.
For Cristian, the greatest gift hasn’t been the achievements themselves—it’s the intimate relationship with God he has built along the way. He recognizes that every accomplishment is the result of discipline, perseverance, and above all, God’s grace. Now, his desire is to be a vessel of blessing to other young people who are facing what he once endured. He wants to share God’s love and show that even in the darkest moments, His light can transform any life.
“Everything I went through was part of God’s purpose for me,” he says, confident that no part of his story has been in vain.
